Evergy Energy Solutions and EnergyLink designed and installed a new 750-kW ground mount solar array behind Spring Hill High School in Kansas to provide clean electricity to the Spring Hill School District. The array is made possible through a PPA sponsored by Evergy Energy Solutions, a non-regulated affiliate of Evergy.

The array, with a combination of bifacial and monofacial solar panels, provides energy stability as well as a learning opportunity for students for years to come. Spring Hill High School plans to incorporate the new solar array into its ongoing curriculum, with the goal of promoting careers in energy and sustainability.

“This solar array is an incredible investment in the Spring Hill school district and the community at large,” said Jeremy Nolen, EnergyLink’s project lead. “We are excited to see how the project and the energy savings it provides will impact the programs, faculty and students at Spring Hill High School in the long term.”

The solar array is expected to offset the school district’s electricity use by about one-third.
