Researchers on the Nationwide College of La Plata (UNLP) in Argentina have unveiled an autonomous robotic powered by photovoltaic power that collects waste and hydrocarbons from the floor of the water.

Engineers from the Electronics, Management, and Sign Processing Analysis Institute (LEICI) of UNLP and environmental safety firm Recyclamer Pampa Argentina have developed a solar-powered robotic that collects waste from water our bodies and surveys hydro-environmental variables.
“The robotic has the capability to scrub rubbish on the floor and as much as 40 cm deep, in our bodies of water reminiscent of rivers, lagoons, and ports,” stated LEICI researcher Juan Luis Rosendo. “Macro-plastics (bottles, baggage), micro-plastics, and floating hydrocarbons, that are one of many primary pollution in waterways, are normally discovered at this depth,” he defined.
