Irish grid operator EirGrid has printed the provisional outcomes of its newest public sale for the capability market – the so-called Q–4 Capability Public sale.
The community operator allotted a complete of seven,204 MW of capability, with 5.4 GW from fuel energy crops, 195 MW from hydropower amenities, 108.9 MW from battery storage, 203.2 MW from pumped hydro storage, 50 MW from wind energy, and 50.7 MW from steam generators. The remaining half is assigned to different manufacturing applied sciences.
“The public sale clearing worth is €83.050/MW per 12 months,” EirGrid mentioned in an announcement, saying that the allotted capability will cowl the interval from October 1, 2026, to Sept. 30, 2027. “A complete of € 698 million in capability funds might be paid to mills profitable on this public sale.
The grid operator initially accepted proposals for 11.0 GW of mixed capability, with 8.55 GW from fuel energy crops, 195 MW from hydropower amenities, 613.2 from battery storage, and 203.2 MW from pumped hydro storage.
“It may be seen of 76% of all of the MWs related to the Gasoline Turbine that’s eligible to be provided to public sale, whereas solely 21% of MW associated to Battery Storage is eligible provided at public sale,” it mentioned.
