AIR: The record storm in New York this past week has helped scientists collect new data on how wind turbines can stimulate light in a snowstorm, also known as thundersnow. (Washington Post)

EMISSIONS: Pennsylvania Republicans have opposed regulators’ approval of tighter emissions standards for the oil and gas industry, which will trigger a comment period that will continue into next year. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
SOLAR: Pennsylvania-based Hershey says its solar development and energy and water optimization projects have significantly reduced its emissions. (Pennsylvania Business Report)
CLIMATE:
• New York’s Climate Action Council has less than a month to finalize and approve an emissions reduction plan that will transform transportation, home heating, and more in the state. (Politics)
• An unusually warm autumn that left Lakes Erie and Ontario toasty as the air cooled fueled upstate New York’s historic snowstorm this week. (Yale Climate Connections)
