SEG Photo voltaic (SEG) says it has acquired a manufacturing unit constructing in Houston, Texas, the place it plans to accommodate 2 GW of photo voltaic module manufacturing. The California-based firm says the power will produce photo voltaic modules primarily based on n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) cell expertise.
The corporate stated it plans to supply some components from native suppliers. Manufacturing is predicted to start within the first quarter of 2024. The preliminary funding within the manufacturing unit will attain $60 million.
