Damodar Valley Corp. (DVC) has recognized 2 GW of floating photo voltaic potential within the reservoirs of its Maithon, Panchet, Tilaiya and Konar dams within the Indian state of Jharkhand.
The state-owned firm has sought approval from India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Power to put in capability below the Extremely Mega Renewable Power Energy Parks (UMREPP) scheme. DVC has already acquired approval for 990 MW of two GW from the ministry. It’s going to quickly enhance a few of that 990 MW, in response to a DVC official.
The capability will probably be constructed on three reservoirs and is more likely to be positioned in a three way partnership with NTPC Renewable Power Ltd. DVC has additionally signed a memorandum of understanding with NTPC Renewable Power Ltd to develop renewable power initiatives within the reservoirs of its dams.
