India’s SCCL commissioned the primary floating solar energy plant on the Singareni Thermal Energy Station (STPS) in Jaipur, within the Indian state of Telangana.
State-owned SCCL is establishing a 15 MW (AC)/19.5 MW (DC) floating solar energy plant on the STPS reservoir. Within the first part, it supplied 5 MW of floating photo voltaic capability. The second 10 MW part is anticipated to be accomplished by the top of March.
The 5 MW(AC)/6.5 MW(DC) floating photo voltaic plant is being carried out by Hyderabad-headquartered Novus Inexperienced Power Techniques.
“The plant makes use of clear glass-to-glass photo voltaic modules, that are extra environment friendly than conventional photo voltaic modules,” stated Anshuman Yenigalla, managing director of Novus Inexperienced.
Novus Inexperienced’s in-house groups constructed the 5 MW floating PV plant. The photo voltaic panels are manufactured at its facility in India. Home provider FloatVolt supplies the floating boards.
“The mission faces many challenges, such because the design and manufacture of floating boards that meet all of the take a look at and restore requirements of frameless glass-to-glass modules of float boards, ” stated Yenigalla. “The general design was reviewed by the Indian Institute of Know-how (IIT), making it the primary floating photo voltaic mission to be reviewed by a premium establishment like IIT.”
