    Italvolt partners StoreDot for XFC Li batteries

    January 20, 2023: Italvolt, the Italian gigafactory developer, introduced that it entered into ‘a strategic collaboration’ with StoreDot, a lithium ion battery developer, on January 16.

    Italvolt will license StoreDot’s excessive quick charging expertise (XFC) and IPR to fabricate XFC lithium ion batteries at its plant, which can begin manufacturing in 2024 in Turin, Italy.

    The settlement between the 2 corporations will enable Italvolt to scale and improve its battery cell manufacturing.

    It additionally permits StoreDot to purchase Italvolt batteries for its personal enterprise, as soon as manufacturing is full.

    StoreDot’s ‘100inX’ product roadmap has the ambition to develop superior battery cells able to 100 miles of drive vary in 5 minutes of charging by 2024, down to a few minutes by 2028 and two minutes in 2032.

    Lars Carlstrom (pictured), founder and CEO of Italvolt, stated: “Our collaboration with StoreDot is an inflection level in our journey to ship high-quality, lithium ion battery cells, at scale.”

    Doron Myersdorf, CEO of StoreDot, stated: “This settlement permits us to amass captive capability in order that we are able to assure the provision of cells to our future OEM prospects. It is rather vital that StoreDot creates this sturdy relationships as we transfer quickly towards mass manufacturing.
