    Six solar fields await Sussex council action

    Photo voltaic farms are shortly turning into one other money crop for Sussex County farmers. Prior to now two years, three photo voltaic initiatives have been authorized, one other six are awaiting a choice by the Sussex County Council and one other one was launched throughout the council’s Jan. 20 conferences.     • Heimlich Photo voltaic Companions – 4.5 megawatts with 16,000 photo voltaic panels on 35 acres on the east aspect of Mile Stretch Highway and close to the Delaware Electrical Cooperative facility close to Greenwood. Lots of the proposed photo voltaic fields will present electrical energy to the cooperative.

    Ready is:

    • Dawn Photo voltaic, 5.8 megawatts on 33 acres north of Fleatown Highway and west of Clendaniel Pond Highway south of Milford

    • Group Energy Group LLC – 25 acres on the north aspect of Woodland Ferry Highway west of Seaford

    • Group Energy Group LLC – 25 acres on the north aspect of Route 16 east of the Route 113 intersection.

    At its January 12 assembly, the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Fee beneficial approval of the three functions. The Council of the Council of Sussex has scheduled a listening to on the functions at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, February 21, within the constructing of the administration of the county, 2 The Circle Georgetown.

    • Turning Level Vitality – 3 megawatts on 27.5 acres on the west aspect of Elks Highway close to Hearns Pond north of Seaford

    Launched to the council on the Jan. 10 assembly was a request by Sussex CSG 1 LLC for a photo voltaic farm on a 21-acre parcel on the south aspect of Outdated Stagecoach Highway close to Delmar.

    Already in use is a 1.57-megawatt venture on the website of the Allen Harim Meals processing plant inbuilt 2011 in Harbeson and a 400-panel photo voltaic subject inbuilt 2011 in Sussex County adjoining to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Heart.

    A 2.4-megawatt photo voltaic farm can also be proposed on property owned by the Sandhill Fields sports activities advanced on Sand Hill Highway in Georgetown.
