April 6, 2023: SMC World Energy Holdings inaugurated a 1,000MW/1,000MWh fleet of battery power storage programs within the Philippines on April 4 — 570MW of which is provided by Fluence Vitality.
Fluence stated the BESS portfolio, unfold throughout 32 websites, is the biggest in southeast Asia and offers superior grid stability as increasingly intermittent renewable power sources are added to the grid.
SMC is among the largest electrical energy suppliers within the Philippines and the biggest buyer of US-based Fluence.
Fluence stated BESS tasks present essential grid stability providers to the whole Nationwide Transmission Community within the Philippines together with frequency response, reserve energy, and voltage regulation.
