    Avancis achieves 20.3% efficiency in CIGS solar panel – pv magazine International

    Avancis set a brand new world file for a copper, indium, gallium, and selenium (CIGS) photo voltaic panel with an built-in sequence connection of 30 cm x 30 cm, attaining an effectivity of 20.3%. The achievement of the German producer was confirmed by the US Nationwide Renewable Power Laboratory.

    German thin-film photo voltaic module producer Avancis claims to have achieved a brand new world file effectivity for a completely encapsulated CIGS module with an built-in sequence connection measuring 30 cm × 30 cm.

    203% effectivity was verified for a panel with an aperture space of ​​527 cm2 on the US Division of Power’s Nationwide Renewable Power Lab (NREL). The earlier file for a CIGS module of this dimension was 19.64%.

    “This achievement was made doable by additional optimization of the Ga-rich Cu (In, Ga) (S, Se)2 absorber bandgap profile by adapting the AVANCIS SEL-RTP course of (stacked elemental layer – speedy processing of thermal) mixed with the Na -based post-deposition therapy of the absorber and the Cd-free, sputtered Zn (O, S) buffer,” the corporate mentioned in a press release.

    Avancis says the processes used to attain file effectivity can simply be transferred to industrial manufacturing.

    “These massive space thin-film photo voltaic modules open up virtually limitless design freedom within the planning and realization of future photo voltaic facades,” it mentioned. “The particular coloration expertise of Avancis permits dynamic coloring and thus an interaction of sunshine and coloration, and the matt, noble floor creates an architectural spotlight.”

    Avancis has developed a high-efficiency photo voltaic panel with a CIGS absorber, sodium-based post-treatment, and cadmium-free sputtered zinc oxysulphide buffer. The panel was created at its analysis heart in Munich, Germany.

    Avancis has been a part of China’s state-owned CNBM since 2014. Its headquarters are positioned in Torgau, Germany, with further areas in Munich and Ochang, South Korea.
